Episode 153: Reflections From the Shadowlands: A Farewell
Welcome everyone, to this final episode of the Walking the Shadowlands podcast. Today feels bittersweet, as we gather here for one last journey through the unknown. This podcast began with a simple heartfelt vision and in truth, it wouldn’t exist without the suggestions, encouragement and support from members of our Walking the Shadowlands Facebook group.
Your suggestions, your stories, and your belief in this journey gave it life. For that, and for everything that followed, I’m endlessly grateful. I created this space to explore life’s mysteries together. The questions that linger in the shadows. The experiences that defy explanation. And the stories that open our minds and hearts to new possibilities. Throughout this journey, we’ve ventured into realms of the extraordinary and the unseen. From encounters with beings beyond our world. To the profound spiritual shifts that come from within. Every episode has been a step deeper into understanding both the world around us and the worlds beyond our sight.
And it’s not been a journey I’ve taken alone. Each of you listening has been with me. Not just as an audience but as a community each step of the way. As I look back, I’m deeply grateful for the moments we’ve shared here. The conversations that challenged us. The ideas that lingered long after each episode ended. And the profound courage of all who’ve shared their stories with us. I’ve heard from so many of you, messages, comments, and stories that reflect how these episodes have resonated. How they’ve sparked new questions. Helped. Comforted. Or simply, offered a reminder that we’re all connected by these mysteries we can’t fully explain. Today as we look back, I’ve gathered some of my favourite moments from past episodes.
It was so hard to choose. It was so hard to choose, as each guest brought something unique. Even the ones I voiced for the experiencer. There were so many that I wanted to include. And not just from my most listened to episodes. It’s so hard to leave so many wonderful guests out. Each of these clips that I’ve shared captures something. A spark of insight. A moment of awe. Or perhaps, a thread of connection that binds us all.
So. Whether you’ve been listening since our first episode. Or joined along the way. I invite you to join me now as we walk through these memories together. One last time. And as we revisit these stories, my hope is that they’ll offer a fresh perspective. Or a sense of wonder. Perhaps even a reminder, of the magic that exists in the Shadowlands, waiting for those who are willing to seek it out. So, let’s begin this final journey. A journey through the heart of Walking the Shadowlands. Where the known meets the unknown. And where perhaps, the greatest mysteries lie. The question, as always is:
Are you willing to walk with me into the Shadowlands one final time, and see what awaits us there? Then, let’s begin.
Reflections From the Shadowlands: A Farewell
We begin our journey today by turning inward to a realm of personal transformation, resilience and the experiences that change us in profound ways. Spiritual growth and near death experiences have shown us that the journey through the shadows can be one of revelation, healing, and connection to something greater.
We’ve heard stories from people who returned from the edge with insights that changed their lives. And by sharing, changed ours as well. Here we revisit the moments where our journey became not just about the mysteries outside of us. But the mysteries within. And please note, with all these clips, if I do not mention a guest’s name, it is because they specifically requested anonymity.
From our very first season, in 2019, called:
Near Death Experiences.
I was riding horses. I was out in Colorado and the Rocky mountains. And the horse that I was riding was also a very well trained race horse. And I was with five other riders. And what happened was we were lost. So they nominated me to get to the top of the mountain, and figure out where we were. So I was going to triangulate it.
So I took the horse up and it was an old logging trail. And what ended up happening was, I got to the top so that I could see where we were, and figure out that the ranch is that way. And I didn’t realize that there was a cabin behind me. Somebody came out of the cabin and slammed the door and spooked the horse.
I was up on top of the hill. Oh, you might have seen the man from snowy river? It was really close to that. The first time that I saw that movie, I was white knuckled and my dad came over and pulled my hands off of the chair and said, you’re okay, Amy. It’s all right. Don’t worry about it. Because, I was redoing that entire ride.
It was probably a quarter of a mile and it was around trees and over. And at the bottom we – there was this huge pine tree. And the horse went one way. And I went the other way. And I had my arm like that to protect my head but you know obviously, I mean, full stop gallop. It took two and a half hours to get the paramedics in to where I was.
They had, my friends had to get out to the highway first. Because this is in 1980, there’s no cell phones. So they had to go on out and find somebody to call the paramedics. So it… then they got the four wheel drive ambulance stuck in the mud. Because it was monsoon season. So they had to hike in and hike me out on a stretcher.
What I remember is looking down at the body and saying, yeah, nobody’s gonna want to live there. And the being that was beside me said; No, no. That’s yours.

My guest David Ditchfield shared his harrowing accident that caused his near death experience. I’ve said it before, but this interview with David was one of the hardest emotionally that I’ve ever done. I was honestly crying so often when he was sharing parts of his experience. It was so hard for me to remain professional. His experience touched me, on a soul level. And has left a lasting impression on me.
I said my goodbyes to her. And hugged her and kissed her. And, we just had a lovely few days together. So, I was giving her a real warm hug, you know. And then the emergency buzzer started going. So she was going quick, you’re gonna have to get off. I was going, yeah, I’ll be fine.
Don’t worry. But as I did step back, the bottom corner of my coat got caught. It’s got, well, it got trapped. It’s literally trapped in the, in the automatic closing doors of the carriage. So I tugged really, really hard trying to release it. And I thought the doors would actually sort of trigger and open, but they didn’t. And I couldn’t get it free.
The engine started revving up. And, oh my goodness, you know, this is not good. So I turned around and look for a guard on, on… there was no guard at all on the platform. So I just yelled at the top of my voice for help. And nobody turned up. So. I just started… I looked at Anna. I looked in her eyes. I could just see this fear in her eyes. And I just started hitting the side of the carriage, hoping that maybe a guard would run through. But nobody turned up.
And the train started to really rev up. And I thought, right it’s about to leave now. And we looked at each other. And the fear in her eyes was just so intense that it just made me stop and think, this is it. I’m going to die. And I really figured at that point that, that was it. It was all… I couldn’t see myself getting free at all.
And I thought I’m going to get pulled under. So, the train pulled out at a real speed. You don’t realize just how fast trains actually leave a station, until you’re literally on the outside of one. And so I got dragged along. And I lost my footing eventually. And then got pulled between the space of the platform edge, and then the actual train itself, moving at great
speed. I got sucked in and then I went. And yeah. So it was just like literally being pulled into, into darkness. And I was just violently thrown around and just completely… it was like… I was completely conscious about the whole ordeal. So it was very terrifying. And very painful .And very fast and I’d lost all, I’d got no control over the situation, whatsoever.
And I felt like it was me against this huge beast. You know, this, this train. This big piece of metal suddenly became like a a massive monster. That was about to devour me. And, then I suddenly found myself lying in between the track, as the train was still continuing onwards. And I just kept my head right down. Because, I knew that it wasn’t over yet.
I thought any part of the undercarriage of the train itself could just hit me over the back of the head, right? And it would all be over. But, clearly that didn’t happen. And the train eventually moved on. And it took forever. It was a long track and off it went. And sort-of disappeared down the track.

Be Love
with my guest, Canadian singer songwriter, Ed Roman.
A lot of those kinds of things maybe that our ancient, ancestral people had the ability to do, especially on a, on a level that’s far more, you know, subliminal.
Right!
Because I also believe in the subliminal in nature. Subtle energy, I think, comes off of everything from a forest, to an animal.
Absolutely!
So, how we interreact with it is no different than the way that cycle interreacts with our solar system, inside of the cosmos, inside of everything. And I’m a big believer in scales and variance. So that feeling, of projection can actually go through those processes. Ravi Shankar, once said that every note you play, will vibrate forever. So make it last. And make it right. Make it real.
Interesting.
Make it truthful. And whatever we pump out in the ether, through that cycle, can be good or bad. So that’s why I’m looking at it. I’m wondering what it all represents?
RIght.
Even subatomically. How does it affect things subatomically?
That’s very interesting. I Personally I have had a lot to do with Star People, my entire life.
And one of the things that they taught me, is about energy and vibration. And the power of energy. And the power of vibration. Which is really what you’re talking about in a different terminology. But, it’s the same sort of thing. It’s the energy that flows through everything.
Yes. In fact, it’s funny that you say that because I was thinking about what is that unit.
That was created by, his name is George… what’s his last name again? Out in Utah. It’s that dome. He was given, projections from some people from the Star…. It’s called the Energy Tron, or…? But I was thinking about it today, and you’re bringing it up! And that actually coincides with that same feeling, of flow of thinking.
There’s so often where I’m thinking about things arbitrarily. I don’t know why? But then, later they start to show themselves. As well, that’s why you were thinking about it.
Oh, interesting. So, serendipitous, perhaps?
Yeah, but more, I think, connected to that flow that you’re talking about…
Correct!
That, that is in everything.
Some people, I think, can be so connected to it that they’re… How do you do that? How, did that happen? Is that a fluke? It’s a coincidence? I don’t think so.
As we continue our journey through some of the most intriguing moments from Walking the Shadowlands. We step into the realm of the paranormal. A place where reality and the supernatural blur. Over the episodes we’ve delved into eerie encounters, ghostly visitations. And the unexplained moments that have left lasting impressions on those who experience them.
In this segment, we revisit stories of paranormal encounters. Where ordinary life is disrupted by glimpses into something beyond. These accounts remind us that some mysteries aren’t bound by logic. They’re bound only by the courage to tell the tale.
From Season 1 in 2019, called
Things that go bump in the night.
My youngest sister passed away in 2001. She had a seizure in the bathtub. Between the time it took from my dad to answer the door and for me to get there, she had already passed. And so I was sort of the first person that was on the scene, and saw her. I was five years old when that happened. And after that I experienced a lot of unusual things that were happening, that related back to her behavior when she was alive. So, we had a sliding door in our bathroom, for instance. And we had to shove a wooden wedge in it, so she couldn’t get into the bathroom.
After she passed away, we took it out for convenience. And I would hear her running up and down the hallway. Opening and closing the door. That happened basically every day. I experienced her as if she had actually never left. So, I heard her laugh. Or could feel her there. But I’d never seen her,
physically. Sorry. It’s a bit hard to, yeah. But it’s getting easier to talk about, which is good. And I think this feels really important to do. So, yeah, these experiences, they continue, basically, yeah, every day. And because I was quite young, I didn’t really understand what I was experiencing. And because I never seen a physical form. I just always heard or felt things. I, I couldn’t identify that with being her. So, I was quite terrified of what that could have been. Or even the idea of a ghost. As a child I always thought that was a scary thing or, or a bad thing. And my family, my parents were still very young, so probably a bit uncomfortable about talking about it. And probably quite in shock about some of the things that were happening, as well. Didn’t really speak openly about it with me. And it wasn’t until a close family friend, who I actually call an uncle, spoke to me. And had heard about from my parents what I was experiencing. And he spoke to me and told me that I didn’t have to be scared, because it was my sister. And knowing that, sort of flicked a switch in my mind. Where it went from being really fearful and actually quite scared of what was happening, to actually feeling quite relieved. And actually almost happy because she, in a way, she hadn’t gone. And that was a nice feeling for me, that I could still experience her there.
From Season 4 in 2020. Called
Tyler’s Return.
This is Deb’s Touching Story.
I had met the love of my life. Tyler Williams, his name was. And It was an immediate attraction. And we just fell head over heels in love with each other. I’ve never in my life felt that immensely in love with somebody. Like, I felt drunk with love. I’ve never felt that before in my life. We had such a, an unbreakable bond.
He could read my mind, I knew what he was thinking. We’d finish each other’s sentences, within a very small period of time that we were together. I got a phone call. Nine-fourteen in the evening to be exact. And it was Tyler’s mother calling me. And she, these were the words that she said to me. She said, Deb, Tyler’s gone.
He was in a terrible motorcycle accident tonight. And he passed away. Three to four months after he passed away, things started happening in our house, big time. Like, they weren’t subtle. It was pretty obvious stuff was going on. It just didn’t, just didn’t add up. It took me only a short time to realize that it was him. But, so at first, it started out with, anytime me, or our son Blake… and I have – because, I had other children at the time. So it never pertained to them at all.
It would only happen to myself, or Blake. The son that I have with Tyler. It started off with um, the lights started blinking and noticeably. Like annoyingly. They started blinking. And i’m like what in the heck’s going on? Are my lamps on the fritz? Do I need to buy new lamps? And then that turned into It was happening in the whole house. TV turning on and off by itself. Radio turning on and off by itself. And then, that escalated into If me or my son Blake would walk into a room, the lightbulb would completely burst! I mean, break. And I would have to… I mean it’s very difficult to unscrew a lightbulb that’s broken.
Yeah. It is.
I thought, oh my gosh, I need to call an electrician, or something. Maybe there’s something wrong with the wiring in my house? I was worried about it being a fire hazard, things like that. Because it kept… I was literally changing bulbs daily, in my house. Because, they were busting that often. I thought gosh, what in the world is going on?
during this time I cried so much. I didn’t think a human body could cry that much and stay hydrated, or survive. Like literally, I would lay on the ground during the day, when my kids were at school .And I would just cry for hours, uncontrollably. And one of these particular days I happened to be in the shower. And I had soap in my hair and I was just bawling my eyes out, uncontrollably. Having a complete nervous breakdown. Wondering how I’m going to pick up the pieces of my shattered life, and move on? And so I had soap in my hair. I’m trying to wash it out of my hair. And all of a sudden I hear this creepy Giggle for a few seconds. And I almost jumped out of the shower a foot high. I mean, I almost had a heart attack, and died. Because I knew I was at home alone. I did not expect to hear any noises coming from anywhere in my vicinity. And after I scrubbed the soap out of my hair as fast, as I possibly could. I looked down and, there was this toy in the bathtub, that I knew made that noise.
It belonged to my daughter. And she had gotten it in a McDonald’s Happy Meal. And it happened to be a little Nemo fish. And if you touched its little fin, it would make that same giggling noise. But this toy was a tub toy. Because, it had stopped working like years prior to this event. There were no batteries in it.
The thing that made it giggle was broken. It hadn’t worked in like years. That’s why it was a tub toy. So I picked this thing up, Knowing that, that sound came from that little toy. And I’m pushing it, pushing the fin, shaking it, nothing’s happening. So I quickly got out of the shower and found a screwdriver and completely dismantled this entire toy, looking for reasons why it would have made this creepy sounding giggle.
I mean, this giggle went on for seconds. It was just the creepiest thing ever. There was no reason or explanation as to why this thing should be giggling at me like that. I actually still have that Nemo toy on a shelf in my bedroom. I kept it because I thought, after I realized that it was Tyler who did it. Wanting me to know that he was there. Of course, I wanted to keep that as a memento of sorts.
So it’s actually sitting on my shelf in my bedroom. And it has not giggled again to this day. And it’s 16 years later and that toy has not giggled once since that incident.
From season 4 in 2020, called Signs from the Other Side. This particular experience was read out by me with permission from the owner Mortismalum on Reddit.
This is the first time I’m actually writing about this. So when I was 13, my older brother, 18, and I were on our way to a movie ,when we were hit by a drunk driver. I woke up in hospital four days later. Having lost my right leg. And other leg in cast, along with other injuries. That night I woke up to my brother sitting by my bed, telling me everything will be okay. And to go back to sleep.
The next day parents came to visit and see how I was doing. I asked why my brother wasn’t with them? And they looked at each other, but didn’t say anything. That night, I again, woke up to my brother sitting by my bed. Again telling me, he knows I can get through this. But, and I need to be strong and overcome this. And not let my injuries stop me from living life.
We talked a bit. Him not answering specific questions. But, answering more general questions. I remember asking him why he was still wearing clothes from yesterday? Because that was very unlike him, to wear anything similar to what he wore the day before. He didn’t answer that. But when asked how he was? He said better than he thought he would be, given the circumstances.
He reminded me to be strong. And keep living. And not let anything stop me. And how much he loved me, before telling me I should get some more sleep. That next day, the parents again came to visit me in hospital. And I again asked why my brother wasn’t with them? And they again looked at each other. And it was only after I said that I would like a family visit together, not at different times. And I would like my brother to visit during the day, when we can talk more. Instead of at night.
That my dad asked what I meant? And I told him Andy had been coming at night to visit. My mum broke down and left the room. My dad then told me that was impossible. Because, Andy died in the accident, instantly. I didn’t believe it and argued it. And ended up having to be sedated. That night I had no visit. And next day parents brought a newspaper article about the accident. Still crazy to think about it. And I definitely can’t explain it.
As we continue our exploration of the shadows, we delve into the realm of myths and legends. Where ancient stories intertwine with the unexplained. From the tales of Skin Walkers. That haunt the narratives of Native American folklore, to other legendary beings that roam the earth. These stories reflect the fears, hopes, and mysteries of human experience.
Throughout Walking the Shadowlands, we’ve encountered narratives that spark our imaginations. And challenge our perceptions of reality. In this segment, we’ll revisit some haunting tales and legends that have persisted through time. Reminding us that some mysteries are deeply rooted in our collective consciousness. Waiting to be acknowledged and understood.

Skinwalkers-Part 2.
My guest is anonymous because skinwalkers are a topic that is taboo and rarely discussed. For fear of drawing one to you. My guest, whose voice was disguised to protect their identity at their request, shares this chilling encounter on her reservation.
Again, like I said, we live in a rural area. And there’s no streetlights. When you go outside it’s essentially complete darkness, unless it’s a full moon night. And it’s funny because my uncle had internet. And I didn’t have internet at my house. And so I would walk over to my uncles, who lived about a fourth of a mile away from my house.
And I would walk over, spend time on the internet. And I would walk home. Walk home in the dark to my house by myself. And I was never afraid. I didn’t live in the city where people were going to come up and grab me, or anything like that. And so one of these nights I stayed super late.
And it was like, 10, 11. And my uncle was like, you better go home, that’s enough. You better go home. And so I start walking. And I walk a couple of feet and I get on my bike. And I’m like, okay, I’m going to essentially ride my bike back to my mom’s house. So I get on my bike and I start pedaling. And I’m pedaling down the path and on the way home, we had a sheep corral, where we would keep the sheep. And, all the sheep were in there. It was nighttime. And I get to the sheep corral and I just happen to glance towards it, and right next to the little shelter that they have was something sitting.
And I looked, I stopped my bike and I stared. And he sat there and I stared at it. And I swore, I swore it was a dog. And I stared at it and I stared at it. And the moment that pure, like I’ve never been so scared in my life, until like, Totally disequilibrium of what I had thought. What being real, what being, you know, reality .And what I’d been told, came forward ,when the dog that was sitting next to the sheep corral stood up.
I got so scared. And off in the distance I could see my older sister. In her, her vehicle and her husband. They were talking with my uncle. I rode my bike back and I was so, so, so frightened. And they didn’t understand what I was saying. And I was in tears. I was crying.
I was trying to like, talk and tell them. And, the funny thing is, I feel like if a child tells, you know, generally if a child tells you a response is supernatural, generally adults write it off. Or like, Oh, you’ll be fine. You know? You don’t know what you saw is kind-of like the, response that people have, like adults have given their children when they experienced something supernatural.
But the difference with skinwalkers in my area is, when I told what I saw immediately, the adults that were standing outside of the home, took it very seriously. Put me in the vehicle, no, put me inside the house. They got in the vehicle and they went looking for whatever I saw. So it validated what I saw. And made me fear it even more. Because I saw something that didn’t make sense that was so unnatural, so weird.
And when I told the adults that were there, it wasn’t like, Oh, well, don’t worry about it. You’re just seeing things. It was taken with such a level of urgency and seriousness, that whatever I saw was truly seen as a danger. Because they went after it.

Bigfoot, Myths, and Legends
with my guest, George Lunsford.
And on one of the podcasts, you talked about an experience you had while you were at sea with a mysterious fog. Maybe you could share that story because I’m pretty sure my audience would find that very interesting. Well, that was in the Bermuda Triangle. Ah, I was on aft lookout. I spent a lot of time on aft lookout, but I was on aft lookout and the guy in forward lookout, give me a call.
He says, something’s weird up here. Take a look up here. I leaned over the side of the ship and I seen it. And over the horizon, probably the horizon is 10 miles from the ship. So over the horizon, about 12 miles, you could see a little gray spot on the ocean. And we got closer to it. We got within about five miles of it.
You couldn’t see the side ends of it on the sides. It went from as far as you could see on both sides. And as high as you could say, and of course I was still on aft lookout. And as the ship went into the fog bank, now fog banks, there’s nothing unusual. They’re on the ocean a lot. This one was weird.
It had a weird feeling to it. And as the ship went into the fog bank was moving about 10, 12 knots. And as it went in, all the electronics and electrical stuff stopped working. And they started spinning and all the way down the ship, till it finally got to me on aft look out. And while we were in the fog, the hair on your arms would stand up and it felt like a charge. Like electrical charge in your face and in your hair and everything.
And as a ship come out the other side of the fog, everything come back on like it was normal. Wow. And then I looked, I was looking around the ship, looking around, I looked back. Go back to my post, and it was gone, the fog bank was gone, but the water had got choppy and the sky was kind-of a grayish tint. And before that, when we were outside, before we ever went in the fog, the water was smooth, it was a beautiful day. But, after we passed through that, it changed everything.
Wow, so did anybody that you talked to about it, did they experience the same sort of physical reaction that you did? No. Everybody had that same feel to the electrical charge. But we talked about nobody ever brought it back up after we had experienced it back in those days. And even today, they don’t talk about stuff like that.
As we continue exploring the unexplained. We turn to the world of cryptids. Mysterious creatures that have long been a part of folklore, and yet, remain elusive in modern times. From tales of Bigfoot sightings to encounters with other cryptids. These beings invite us to consider what may exist just beyond the boundaries of our understanding.
Throughout our episodes, we’ve listened to eyewitness accounts worldwide. And examined the possibilities surrounding these creatures. Here, we revisit the stories that remind us that even in today’s world, there are mysteries lurking in the wild places. Just waiting to be discovered.
From Season 1, 2019, Episode 10. Called
The Moehau Man.
I remember when I was about six, must have been about six or five, we went for a school trip. I used to go to a little school that’s down near Whanganui River. And we went for a school trip on the river boats to go and see the Bridge to Nowhere because it’s a pretty long walk in Inland, so it’s only half an hour walk from the river.
And at the time my uncle, he was running, a business with the river boats and so he took our school up there. School was only about 10 kids. And so it wasn’t like, thousands of kids trying to take them up a river. And, well anyways, we went up there and, I don’t know, I just had this really.
Eerie feeling like someone was watching me and I kept on saying to mum because mum came and I kept on saying to Mum, Mum, there’s someone in the trees watching. I can feel them I can’t see them, but I can feel them watching and Mum’s like, oh, don’t be silly because you know, you don’t want to scare your kids. She totally believed me though.
I could see that she could believe me. I’m pretty sure she could feel it too. And I kept on saying to my uncle, I said, there’s somebody in the trees watching you guys. Yeah, nah, don’t worry about it. It’s fine. It’s just in the trees. And anyways, we went up to the bridge to nowhere and it was fine when we got off the boat and went up and had a look at the bridge to nowhere.
And it’s really beautiful up there. I totally recommend going to have a look. And anyways, we’re on our way out. We’re back in, on the riverboat. And I could feel this thing watching, and I could see it, running in the trees, following the boats down. We were going really slowly. Because, it was in the middle of summertime, and so the river was quite low. So the bottom of the boat was scrapping along the rapids. So we’re going really slowly to not punch a hole in the bottom of the boat.
And I could see this, this hairy gorilla looking thing running along. And it was black, and I don’t know, I just felt really uncomfortable about it. I just didn’t want to stop. We just, we couldn’t stop. And I kept on telling Uncle. And I was holding on to him and squeezing him for dear life.
I said to him, you can’t stop this boat. And we got a bit stuck on a rapid. And I said, don’t stop, don’t stop! I was freaking out! And when we were, this thing was standing there just looking at us… and we got the boat going. It was just absolutely, truly terrifying. My uncle saw it, my mother saw it. I don’t know about anybody else, I don’t think they saw it. But, yeah, it was only because I could see it, and I noticed it, and it was, I don’t know, it just felt so freaky. I just, I didn’t like it.
It’s energy. I didn’t like the way how it was running after us. But yeah, it just felt like that was protecting something. And it just really didn’t want us to be there. Yeah. Oh, so you, it’s like you were in its territory. Maybe it had a family nest there or something like that? Can you remember details about what he looked like?
Like how tall was he? He was really tall. Like, oh. Like, the tallest person who I know is six foot. It was taller than them. What I could see, what I remember, it had like black fur. I don’t really remember much more. I don’t, I don’t really remember its face.
I was just a little kid. I just remember just being, just the feelings I had about it. That I was actually really terrified. And I didn’t want it to come anywhere close to me.

In Search of the Yowie
with Tony Healy. Here he is interviewing a Yowie witness.
This is, Tony Healy, talking to Jenny in Western Australia, on the 3rd of July, 2018. Yeah, okay, Jenny, it sounds like, you got a good look at that thing. A big creature, was it? It was very big. It was like what the, photos look like on the internet. It was creamy in colour. Right.
We’ve got an Isuzu D Max. And it was a lot bigger than our car. So, It was quite tall. My husband’s here as well, Jim. And we both saw it. And all the hairs on our arms and that, are raised when we saw it. We thought, oh no! He thought it was scary. Yeah, I could imagine, jeez. Yeah. Yeah. So, the location was, uh, what, you were going from Perth through Meckering towards Dowerin, eh?
And, you’d exited. You’d left Meckering, had you, on the road, or? Yes, it was about five, five or ten k’s in from the Meckering turn off, to Darren. Uh huh. When we saw it, it was looking into the paddock, at the sheep in the paddock. So it wasn’t looking facing to us. But we saw the shape of it.
Yeah, it was standing on the side of the road. Yeah, jeez, I wonder if it was thinking of grabbing a sheep and taking off.

with my guest Robert Bitto. Bigfoot’s only one of the many creatures we talked about on this episode.
And so there are two Bigfoot creatures in Mexico. There’s one that’s a kind-of skinnier, maybe six feet, seven feet tall, two meters tall creature. That’s kind-of shy. And he lives in the jungles. So in Guatemala, they also have that. It’s called the Sisimito. And Guatemala, Belize, and the Yucatan, Chiapas, and also, Tabasco, uh, Campeche, those states of Mexico. This creature supposedly lives in the forest.
And the ancient Maya, believed in this creature. They saw this creature as a forest animal, like a deer or a peccary. Or something like that. And so to them, it was a natural forest creature, just a regular creature. Now, then there’s another Bigfoot creature that is much like our North American Bigfoot.
It’s big, bulky, hairy. Just this, the jungle one is skinnier and a little bit smaller. This one is just like the North American Bigfoot that you might encounter in the northern part of the state, where I’m in now, California. And it’s called the Cuatlacas. And a lot of people don’t know about Mexico that it has unending pine forests in the mountains. There are three glaciers in Mexico where it never, the snowpack never melts. And, on two, two of those peaks, I know for sure, Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. I’ll spell those. Those those two peaks are next to each other. And they have permanent snowpack and they have an alpine rescue team that’s been trained in Switzerland. Because it is so snowy. And the weather is bad up there. And that’s where most of the Cuatlacas sightings have happened. And also in the state of Puebla where the north Eastern part of the state really wasn’t even explored by non native people until the 1850s because the pine forest is so dense there. And so that’s the territory of the Cuatlacas.
Now we step into a world both ancient and elusive. The realm of the fairy folk, or the Patupaiarehe, as they are known in the Maori culture. These ethereal beings are woven into folklore around the world. Existing in the edges of human experience. In the places where nature’s mysteries deepen. In our episodes exploring the fairy folk we glimpsed at tales of wonder, caution and enchantment. That seem to reach out from another world.
Let’s revisit some stories of those who’ve encountered the beings who dwell in the liminal spaces. Reminding us that not all mysteries are meant to be fully understood.

This is an encounter sent in to me to be read from one of my listeners.
Hi Marianne, I’d love to share my experience with the wonderful fairy folk. It was a few years ago now, myself and my boyfriend at the time were on our way to Rotorua for a little break away from home. We travelled through Taupo and ended up at a place on the outskirts of Taupo. My boyfriend at the time was a cheapie and didn’t want to waste money on a hotel, so drove on to the outskirts of Taupo and headed up towards what I would call a valley.
Where there was only a beautiful lake and a scenic reserve, where there was a track and a no camping here sign. My boyfriend, being the cheapy he is, pitched our tent even though I didn’t want to stay there as I felt it was breaking the rules and somewhat had a feeling that we shouldn’t stay there.
During the night, I woke to laughter and chatting and seeing a shadow standing over our tent and I started to worry, and I tried to wake my boyfriend. As I tried to wake him, all of a sudden I heard a beautiful tui call and all of a sudden felt at ease. Early in the morning, I woke to the sun glistening upon our tent and woke my boyfriend as I wanted to make sure we had the tent down before anyone could see we stayed there, even though it said no camping and got into trouble.
Thank goodness he got up and we both started to pack up the tent. I looked at the lake and the track that you could walk through and made it a priority to at least go take in all the beauty that laid before my eyes. We both started walking and I kept seeing a shadow going between the trees and I thought what the fuck am I seeing?
I ended up hearing music playing and ended up running off down the track and left my boyfriend behind so to speak. As I came half way or even further down the track I felt like I was in a trance and could hear a chatter and felt myself being pulled off the track. All of a sudden my cardigan I was wearing at the time came down on my right shoulder which showed my tattoo.
The end. I then came out of what felt like a trance, and I looked to where I was. I was no longer on the track where I was previously. I was amongst native trees and behind me was a stone wall. I then thought, what the fuck? Once again, and looked out to try to see the track I had been walking on. And a distance away from me, against a tree, there stood a fair skinned, blondishly brown haired man who had on brown pants and a brown colour suit, who had been playing a red flute and placed it down in his brown satchel bag that he had over his shoulder.
He says, Can you see me? And I replied, yes. He then mimicked the way I would turn my head. He smiled, and I smiled also. After a good few minutes, I hear my boyfriend call out to me. And then, I thought to myself then and there, I have to get back on the track by following my boyfriend’s voice. The man I had seen waved back at me to say bye and I’ll see you again.
He then whisked away amongst the trees. I kept calling out to my boyfriend so I could find my way back to the track. Once I got back on the track, I then ran to him, my boyfriend, and he says to me, Where did you go? I couldn’t see you. You were in front of me and then disappeared as I looked back towards the car.
I tried to explain what had just happened and he looked at me like, You’re nuts. As per usual. Thinking of it now, it makes me truly grateful for all the magical moments I have encountered through my 31 years of life.

It was my dear friend Noel Hillier who got the story for me and took the affidavits of the people involved. And this goes back to, probably, late 90s. Okay, good, good, good. Let me think about this. It doesn’t matter. 20 years ago, let’s say 20 years in April. And there was a group of young men, mostly Māori men, and they were forestry workers. And they’d been working during the week, on a contract felling pine trees up in the Hokianga area. Which is north of Waipua Forest.
And they, most of them, lived on the land further down the coast towards Dargaville. In a place called Kaihu, which is just the side of Dargaville. And they camped up there and lived in cabins, and things. But they always went home on the weekends. Friday night, they always headed off home and Sunday night they came back up.
To go to work. So this is the ritual. And this particular Friday night they’re a little bit later getting away. And it was April. So getting quite dark. And between 8 and 8 30. I’m not too sure the exact time we’re going on approximation. They were driving through the Waipua forest. Which is a Kauri forest, up north . And the drive through from the northern aspects is quite long and windy.
You’re going downhill a lot until you get to the Waiapua River. Then you go up the other side. And then out into the farmland and on to Daugaville. So away they went. And there were five of them, sorry, six of them in the van at the time. Now this was a big sort of truck affair. And there were three of them sitting in the front seat, their seatbelts on, no doubt.
And the rest of them hunkered down in the back. And they’ve got to be pleased to get home to see their families. But also one thing they were quite keen to do is, the tradition was on the way back down for the weekend, they’d stop at the Kaihu tavern. Which is a little pub on the side of the road. A historic place. Have a couple of beers. A couple of them got off there because they lived in Kaihu.
The others would go on another 25 minutes or so to Dargaville. So winding their way down, and they’re getting closer and closer to where the road went across the Waipua River. And they were at about the fourth, of the sharp corners coming down to the river. People in the back were dozing off. And even the guys in the front were dopey.
But thank goodness, the driver who was the overseer of the whole thing, and he was driving. And suddenly, he slams on the brakes of the vehicle. Everything virtually screeches to a halt. The blokes in the bank were tumbled all over the place and the guys in the front, sort of came awake suddenly. And the van had come to a halt. And there in the headlights, a matter of only a few meters ahead. Because, they’d just come around the corner. Was a line of what they perceived initially as children walking across the road in front of the van.
And this was from the right hand side of the van, across to the left. And so the guys in the back sort of came around and said, what’s going on? What’s going on? They’re all clamoring forward to look at why he had stopped them there. They were witnessing. And we believe that within this group, which they were trying to make out what it was. First of all came the chatter.
Oh, what are these children doing out here at night? Walking across the main road like that. Where’s their torches? Where’s the high vis gear? Where’s their teachers? Ooh. Then someone said, I know this area. There’s no tracks or trails around here. Because the bank that they just came out just dropped steeply down to the river.
Right. Ooh. Then someone said, They’re not kids.
They’re Patupaiarehe! And suddenly it electrified the van because there was a stillness came. And people were actually in a bit of a state of shock. But actually, a couple of young Maori man, they was virtually shaking. There was no count kept. But there was at least 20 little figures. Pale of complexion. Wearing… they couldn’t make out any shape to the garments, and that. But, they were white because they were reflecting the light back.
Barely a look into the car lights. They just walked slowly from right to left, and up the bank. And disappeared between a couple of Kauri trees. So straight away, the guys got themselves together. And they could see this, whatever it was, had finished. And they headed back on the road, possibly driving a little, um, faster? I don’t know. But also, wide awake, I would imagine.
And when they got to Kaihu, to drop the boys off, they didn’t stop for drink that night. They shot straight home to Dargaville. Two of the young men spoken to, said they would never, ever, drive through the forest again, ever at nighttime. They were scared.

I have a portal to the fairy world, where the blackthorn meets the whitethorn.. The fairies appear to me on a lot of occasions. Not just to me, but to other people as well. And on this field as well, there is a white lady does appear. She’s synonymous with this field. I have seen her on a good few occasions. And so has other people.
The fairy sends me good luck. And I don’t ask them for anything really. But, I put it out there when I want something of good for people. And. It sometimes it happens and more times it don’t. But there is a connection with the healings I do, and the fairies I think. Can you tell me please about the fae, what do they look like?
The fae is in the same image as of the person that’s looking at them, most of the time. There’s other times they will have changed into animal form. Hmm, so they’re shapeshifters? Shapeshifters. And my daughter seen the fae there last year. And she’s only nine. And she’s seen them in her size So there’s no point in saying what size are they?
I’ve seen them as high as five foot eleven. But my daughter has seen them down four foot and three foot. But, most of the time you will see them in your own image, so you will. Right. Whatever height you are. And there’s times then you will see them as hares, and as stoats. Oh, wow.
I’ve also read that you’ve actually seen a Banshee. Can you please explain to my listeners firstly, what a Banshee is? And then your experience?
A Banshee is a woman that cries before a person dies. Before a person dies, you will hear this woman crying. Which is not… a lot of the churches put the Banshee down as an old withered-up hag.
Right. But I have seen the Banshee as a young maiden. And my father explained to me the reason the Banshee would come and cry, and celebrate death. Death was to be celebrated. A hundred years ago in Ireland, or anywhere in England. Didn’t make a difference what country it was. People that would have cancer would be tied to the bed maybe for a week or two before they die, writhing in pain.
We had no medicines. Right. None whatsoever. So the village would be minding these people that had been sick. Taking turns, shift workers, minding them. Dressing them. Turning them. Trying to bathe them with cold water, hot water, whatever it was doing. But, say I was changing shifts with you tonight. And I came in and I said, I heard the Banshee tonight crying. The whiskey would be taken down. And the fiddle would be taken out. And there’d be music played, although the person would be still alive.
But, they’d know that they’d be going out of this world. Out of the terrible pain that they have. Oh, wow. So, initially the Banshee wasn’t feared, it was something that was celebrated. Because it was an end to suffering. Right. It was an end to suffering. You often heard it said, that there’s worse things than dying could happen to you.
So, you can imagine like in the great wars, where people’s legs and limbs was blown off with shells. And no medicine. And the roars of them people in pain. Well, the same thing was with people, and I’m only talking about my own area, actually. People that have obstructions with cancer and bowels, or breathing difficulties. They’d be roaring in pain. You’d hear them for three miles, roars with pain.
We had no medicine. We had no morphine. We had nothing. We had putchie and wear off after a month drinking that. You’ll become immune to it and your body wouldn’t take any more of it. So, when you heard the person had come in and they said the Banshee is crying, there was a celebration. It was a celebration of death, moving across to the other side. And the pain going out of John’s body as well.
So that’s actually a positive thing. And that’s a different slant to everything that I’ve ever heard about the Banshee. Because , my father used to talk about the Banshee. And he said it was something to be feared. But actually, you’ve given me a whole different perspective on it.

The most frightening experience so with spirit was just shortly after my dad passed away in, he passed away in October, 2016. A few years prior to that, I had started hearing what I didn’t realize then was spirit voice. I just thought I was having hallucinations. I really, yeah, I, yeah, I had no idea.
I was actually hearing spirit voice. But after dad passed away, it was quite soon. Even before his funeral that I started, seeing flashes of shadows from the corner of my eyes. And I would actually hear his voice. But it felt… it scared me. And it took me a while to cotton on and realize, that I shouldn’t be fearful of my dad’s energy.
So I just hear him making a few, a few remarks. I don’t know. The night that really comes to me, is the night before his funeral. I was, I was just freaking out. It was like. I think I was still in denial about his death. And knowing that his funeral was coming up it was, yeah, it was causing me a lot of anxiety.
I said to myself, okay, I’ll write him a letter. You never got a chance to say these things. Write him a letter. You can bury it with him, and get some closure. But then I kind-of freaked out and said, no, I don’t want to do that. I have to accept he’s gone. So I thought I’ll just get on my phone and distract myself.
And then the internet went off. I’m like, no, stop toying with me. I need to distract myself. I went on my laptop. The internet went off on that. I just, I kept hearing him, just do it, just do it. You’ll regret it. If you do not do it, you are going to regret it. So the second I sat down and started writing my letter out, I could hear his voice reading my letter out to me. And not long after I started writing my letter, I look over my daughter’s on YouTube. So the internet had like restored itself. But, the whole time I was hearing his voice, something was feeling weird. And I was not trusting myself. I’m thinking, A) you’re hallucinating, oh.
I don’t know. It’s, maybe it’s, what if it’s not him? What if it’s someone mocking? What if this? What if that? Cause this went on for about an hour. I was just crying, just hearing my dad’s voice, and writing my letter to him. And going back and forth from believing it was him, to just thinking I was crazy.
And, I heard his voice say, You are not crazy. You’re hearing me. I can prove it to you by showing myself. But, you will freak out. And I’m like, no, no, no, I won’t freak out. Show me. Show me. And then I started seeing just glitches of shadow, right in front of me. But, they would jump from spot to spot. And I’m just like, okay, okay, you’re right.
I will freak out. Don’t show me, don’t show me. Just after that, I heard this little chuckle saying, she thinks that’s her dad. yeah.

So we had no power in the house. We used everything either by batteries. Or I had a generator that we would run outside. And we had radios, battery powered radios, a CD player. Because we were doing a lot of work with saws, and sawdust kicking up dust.
I was working and it was after dark. And I had a saw set up in the living room. I was cutting floorboards to replace the upstairs bedroom floor. And I had the radio going. Everything was plugged into a generator. The radio was actually plugged in, in this case.
And every time a loud rock song, this is a classic rock station. Every time a loud rock song would come on, the radio would turn off. And after it happened three times, this is the first time I ever did this. I spoke out loud, out of frustration. And said, look, leave the radio alone. I like this music. Don’t turn it off.
Don’t make me stop what I’m doing to turn it back on. Leave the radio alone. So I go back to work and I don’t know, two or three songs later, Elton John’s song, Saturday night’s all right for fighting came on. The radio didn’t turn off, the generator outside turned off. Left me in the dark. And I just stood there and I laughed. And I went outside, the generator, it was flipped off. It was not, didn’t run out of gas. No issue, it fired right back up, and nothing bothered me the rest of that night. But that’s just very indicative of the things that still to this day, will happen.

When you look around at your present surroundings and everything around you, you get the instinctive feeling that you’re living in a three-dimensional world. Full of shapes, textures, patterns, objects of all types. You have the feeling that you can interact with these physical objects. Like that chair you may be sitting in. That smartphone you might be holding in your hand.
This gives you an instant subjective feeling in your body of their depth, size, temperature, texture and weight. All of this combined gives you a sense of the physical space around you. And more importantly, your location within it. But, what if this experience of space, location and depth, is simply an illusion. A construct in your mind that is only sustained from moment to moment?
What if the solidarity and shape of the world around you, is in fact a very well orchestrated hallucination produced by your brain? What if we actually lived in a space that is purely informational. A space where matter and energy are not our reality’s basic qualities? What if we live in a place, in a reality where everything is solely a construct of the mind?
As Morpheus says to Neo, in a memorable scene from the Matrix movie, What is real? How do you define real? If you are talking about what you can feel. What you can smell, taste and see. Then real, is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.

To model the universe as a simulation is not actually new. A German computer scientist, Conrad Rossi, he was the first one actually to propose this idea. He postulated that there’s a big computer, which runs the universe. Yeah. As a computer scientist, I can understand why he says this. If you have a hammer.
And, uh, everywhere you look, you see nails. As a computer scientist, he is quite natural for him to think, Oh, maybe the universe is a processing output of computation. And so he actually talked about this as early as 1969. Another major heavyweight scholar is John Wheeler. This is another famous physicist.
He actually coined the term black hole in the universe black hole. So he proposed a very famous now phrase is called it from bit. Yeah. It means physical things, physical universe. And bit is the information. And he said everything has information in the background. So information is the fundamental reality. And the appearance of physical universe is dependent on information embedded beneath it.
I proposed this phrase in 1990, actually. And of course the idea got very popularized with the movie Matrix. And so Matrix was a very successful movie on itself. But, it introduced to mass population this idea that the universe can be seen as a matrix. So this increased a lot of awareness of this possibility. But also, some serious thinkers, scholars, including physicists, as well as cosmologists, biologists, philosophers, as well as technology leaders.
They have been considering seriously, whether this is a real possibility. But most people actually stays at the stage of speculation. They speculate. Oh, this might be a matrix. Yeah. But for me, as a scientist, speculation is not enough. So the progress. further from speculation to a theory, you need to answer a number of questions.
For example, if the universe is a processing output of computation, and then the first question you should answer is, where is the computer? What is it made of? How is it built? And what are its properties? Of course, another big, important question is, who is the programmer?

My husband and I lived in the deep woods of East Texas near a tiny place called Mount Sylvan. I’d been having some medical tests done at a hospital nearby. I went for testing for three days in a row, always with the same routine. I parked in the same small parking lot, walked through the double doors leading to the first floor cardio testing area, and signed in at the desk.
I always exchanged some casual conversation with the same young and very pleasant blonde receptionist. There was a small sitting area across from her desk with a door leading to the phlebotomy blood drawing lab right behind her cubicle. The door to the lab was always open though and the sight of the patient sitting in the exact type of chairs, even the same colour, that I saw my late mother sit in for her chemo treatments was just too gut wrenching.
She died a year ago. I even heard a patient in the lab comment on the new chairs, and a nurse replied that the hospital’s oncology department had donated them. I decided to sit across the hall anyway. Last Friday, my husband went back to the hospital with me to hear the test results. He had never been there before.
Usual routine, we parked, walked in, turned past the gift shop, and there was no check in area. I stood and stared in total shock. No chairs, no blonde receptionist, and the door to the lab was on another wall. The other sitting area was just as before. I started to walk up and down the hall searching for my check in area, but it was nowhere to be seen.
A doctor walked by, noticed my confusion, and asked what I was looking for. When I told him that the place I had checked in for my test was missing, he laughed and said that it had been moved to the second floor three years earlier.
And finally. Over the course of Walking the Shadowlands, we’ve explored sightings, close encounters, and accounts that challenge what we know. And I’ve shared some of my own experiences with UFOs, and beings beyond this world. And how my interactions with these beings shaped my own life and understanding of what we perceive as reality.
And through it all, we’ve asked; What truth lies beyond the official stories? In this final segment, we revisit some episodes where we dared to look beyond the veil. And into the world of those who’ve seen, questioned, and sought answers in the shadows. These encounters are a reminder of how little we truly understand about what’s out there.
From season 2, called
David and the Star People.
With my guest David Montgomery.
I was living in central BC and I was going to university. And I was going through a period of, uh, like there was a lot of acceleration happening. I think maybe it was due to immersing myself in the university. So there was lots of learning. So I was kind-of wide open. And in the middle of the night, in this one night, I, I just shot up into a sitting position.
It was like no, no eyes opening, waking up. It was like instant. I just bolted. And upon. gaining focus, there was six beings standing semicircle around my bed. And so the semicircle, I was on the, if I was in the bed looking down, I was on the right side. And so, the one that was closest to me was quite close, like about three feet away.
They were, Not beings that I could recognize, or seen before. They were completely translucent. So, if you imagine the colour of a candle flame, that was from head to toe. They were this colour. They were about three and a half to four feet tall. Except for their eyes, which were large, black oval.
And this, this all takes place very quickly. Like this happened within a few seconds. And as soon as I kind-of gained my focus and saw them, the one closest to me started to reach out with his arm towards me. And, it’s really interesting in these situations because it’s, you know, there’s a different part of the brain that gets activated, the reptilian brain. The fight or flight.
And I remember, I didn’t even have time to think. My body was just reacting. And I was almost like I was a witness to it. As soon as he started to move towards me, I lightning fast threw the covers off. And swung my right leg out onto the carpet. And to be honest, I don’t know what I was going to do? If I was going to tackle him? Or if I was going to run? Or what was going to happen? But, as soon as my foot hits the floor, it ends, that’s all I remember. That was it.
And then I woke up in the morning on the other side of the bed. And it was the first memory that came back. It was like, oh, whoa, what happened last night?
From Season 2, 2019. Called
The Men-in-Black.
And of course, along with the UFO topic, we cannot forget about the infamous Men-in-Black. Yes, they are very real. And in this particular episode, I also talk about my personal Men in Black encounter from when I was a kid.
This incident occurred on October the 14th, 2008, when Shane Savar and an unnamed security guard were standing outside of their hotel, in or near Niagara Falls, Canada. When they witnessed a UFO. There is a link to a newspaper reporting of the sighting on the podcast website, www.walkingtheshadowlands.com. The unique thing about this experience is that the men in black, were caught, on the hotel security cameras.
One of my doormen approached me and he said, he had kind-of a weird look on his face and he said to me, Can we go into your office and talk? And I said, Sure, sure, sure, no problem. So I brought him into my office and he said, Oh, something really weird happened here yesterday and you weren’t here. He said, there were a couple of really strange looking men that were there.
And they kind-of freaked everybody out. And they were asking questions about you. And now, of course, I’m getting a little bit nervous. And, what are you talking about? And he goes, well, they were, I don’t know how to describe them. They were extremely odd looking. They were really, really tall, like six foot five, at least.
He says, and they were identical heights. They were exact same height. They were wearing exact same clothes, and they had the exact same faces, like they were twins. They And he said, they were wearing black suits, black trench coats, they were wearing like the old fashioned fedora hats, they had extremely, extremely pale skin.
And he said, they came in, they looked around a bit, and they asked for you. I said, I’m sorry, he’s not actually working today. And it seemed like they didn’t believe me, so they started to walk around the hotel and shortly after they went to the tour desk. I got busy and started to have to move cars around and get luggage and by the time I came back they were gone.
But, he goes, they freaked me out and I really wanted to tell you, there were these weird guys in here looking for you. So now of course I’m a little bit sceptical and I’m a little bit freaked out all at the same time. The first thing I do is run into my security office because I know how to work the security system and I rerun the cameras and sure enough here comes two gentlemen through the front door looking exactly how he described and you can actually see my bellman the one who’s telling me the story in the area where he’s getting keys for valet and he literally does a double take right on the phone he looks and looked again as if oh my gosh These are extremely odd looking people.
And the next day I came into work again and I was talking with my tour desk, and one of them asked to talk to me, she came into my office the same as my bellman, and she said I need to tell you about something that happened, I heard that you heard there were some men looking for you. And I said yes. And she said, well, you don’t know what happened when they came to my desk, she said.
They asked a few questions about you and they said strange things that I didn’t understand. They were talking about governments and conspiracies and none of it made any sense to me. But, she goes, they were very, very scary. And I said, well, why were they scary? And she said, they had no facial hair, none, she said.
They had no eyebrows, no eyelashes, nothing. Their hair looked like they had a wig on, like it was attached to their hat, like it wasn’t even real. And she said, and the scariest thing, she said, their eyes were so big and so blue that they almost hypnotized me a little bit. And she goes, and you’re going to think I’m crazy when I tell you this, but I swear.
They knew what I was thinking. So I started to think about things other than you, and I don’t even know if it worked, and she started to cry. And she said one more thing before she left, she said, These men, they didn’t blink, not once, not once did I see them blink. I was completely freaked.
From season two, 2019, called
The Bentwaters Incident – A New Perspective.
With my guest, Stacey Smith.
My first incident happened in the late November of 1980. I was, on a bunker when our base went on alert. And, they called all the SPI to barracks. And, I got posted behind Woodbridge Gate, East Gate. Right. All alone.. And all of a sudden I’m in a bunker, oh well, maybe it won’t? I’m okay, had an M60 machine gun. And had to pee.
That’s the biggest one. Whew, I had to pee. But it was cold. Right. Yeah, it was cold as hell. I took my poncho and put it over that one corner of the bunker, so the dew wouldn’t fall down. And I was sittin there, I said, I gotta pee. And, uh, so I got up on the bunker and I went out there. You know, us boys. I peed off the bunker.
And, I looked down the fence, and I saw an orange, reddish glow in the forest, off base. Right. I said, well, that’s probably somebody, you know, walking along our fence-line, looking at our planes. And it kept moving. It was coming towards me, parallel to the fence. And when it got in front of me… well, back to before it got in front of me, I could see that I thought it was somebody walking with a lantern, and nope.
So I called for an SRT team, security response team. Thank you. And, they came to me. And I was in the bunker, and um, when it got in front of me, it stopped. I mean, it stopped! It was hovering about two or three feet off the ground. Wow. It was an orange, reddish, ball of light. I’m gonna say, about a little bit bigger than a beach ball.
Right. It had a slit down the middle. Wow. Okay. Like a cat’s eye. It stayed there and stayed there until the team got to me. There was a black staff sergeant, and a white airman – first class. When you saw this orange ball of light, so close in front of you, how did you feel? It must have been terrifying. Oh, I was scared to death. Scared the shit out of me.
I was a 19-year-old kid. I had a M16 machine gun with over 500 rounds of ammunition. And the sergeant asked me, he said, did you lock and load that machine gun? I said, yes sir, I did. Which we weren’t supposed to do. I said, If you don’t like it, you can wrap my ass up and leave me now. He said, hell no. So the airman, he jumped the fence.
He told me point blank. He said I’m gonna go down about a hundred yards and jump the fence. And come in from the right side and flank it. I said, okay, back you go. Right. When he came in, you could hear him walking through the woods. If you’d have blinked your eyes, you’d have never seen it leave.
It left that fast. Right. And so did it simply ascend right up and whoosh, it was gone, just like that? Yep. And so, once it left, what did your sergeant say? What happened on the base? Was there a debriefing for you all? They left. No, nothing was said.
From Season 2, 2019. Called
The Nimitz Encounters.
With my guest Gary Voorhis.
…so I was talking about how, the day of the first, you know, hint that there was something even going on, we didn’t really take it serious. I woke up that day, I was late. Or I had a, I had a late watch. I woke up early and wasn’t able to go back to sleep. So went up to combat.
Take a look at these, this clutter. And these, uh, these ghost tracks. As they were calling them. Because, they didn’t believe that they’re real. Because of how slow they were flying. And, I had looked at the tracks and I’d seen clutter before. Yeah, to me, they look like sharp tracks. They were well defined, rather were clutter kind-of. Instead of having just a nice, well defined shape to it, you’ll see little splotches. Kind-of like when you’re, when you see that tearing on your digital TVs. Where you see the picture and it kind-of tears across. Well, that little tear would look like radar clutter.
But now I think of that as green clutter though. That’s the kind-of shape and size of clutter. The spy radar is powerful enough to be able to track the crests of waves, if it’s really choppy out. So a lot of times that’s the type of stuff that will make clutter. But it really wasn’t, it was pretty clear.
I mean, we really didn’t have, I think it was like five foot seas, if that. It was like super calm out. So, I didn’t really think we were tracking white caps. Which is what we call the breaking of the waves. So, in order to try to clear up the clutter and the ghost tracks, we took the systems down. As soon as we got captains permission to take him down. And, they recalibrated everything and then we brought them back up. And lo and behold, some of the clutter that was there, was gone. But, the tracks were there.
Clear as day. So at that point, we knew that they were solid tracks. But we didn’t know what they were. There’s a lot of possibilities of what they could be. We knew they weren’t any type of commercial airline. Or anything like that because they weren’t using any type of radio communication to let us know who they were.
They weren’t using a system called IFF. What we call identification, friend or foe. It’s a system that commercial airlines and military airlines of most modern nations use, to identify themselves. It’s basically just a signal that pulses off these aircraft, that will tell you the aircraft name. Who they’re affiliated with, and whatever their tail number is. So it’s a way so you don’t get shot down. All commercial airlines have IFF. All American military airplanes have IFF. Most modern countries do.
It’s something that we’re just used to seeing it just pop up. And with IFF, when we’re tracking the object, once IFF kicks in, it’ll automatically label that object. It’ll say commercial airliner. Or it’ll say com one, or com two. They’ll just label it a commercial airline, so we’ll know exactly what it is. Now see, these things were going like a hundred knots, which is nothing. I mean, most airplane have to get up to 200 miles an hour, before they even get off the ground. Oh, that’s interesting. So, these things are basically just kind-of whimsical, kind-of just floating in a Southern path. Just really kind-of minding their own business on the edge of where we were working our mission in. And, they didn’t seem hostile or anything.
They weren’t coming at our ships. Or anything like that. They weren’t, you know, interrogating us. Or anything like that. They were just there. They would see them. They’d float into a southerly route. And sometimes they disappear. Sometimes they reappear. And, for most of the time, for over the week, we were tracking between three and ten of them at a time.
From season nine, 2021, called
The Lower Alloways Creek Incident.
With my guest, Robert Earl White.
After your mom phoned the police, did the police come out immediately? Immediately. 10 minutes afterwards, the police got there. They get a very brief initial statement, you know, what did you see? Describe what you saw? Where did it go down? And then, their main concern was obviously, getting to the area, getting more info to know where this was.
Right. They were maybe there 5 10 minutes, at most. They weren’t, you know, when something, when a call like that gets reported, try to get on it fast. Also, after my mother, he went next door. Where he talked to my aunt, who was in the house, you know, and called my mother initially. Right. So, and then I’m sure he went probably towards the scene.
This is where the story gets really crazy. Keep in mind throughout the night, when all this happened, it was 10- 18 PM. And by time the police got there, it was getting later. It was raining. It was dark. They were traumatized from seeing something that big, explode that low, behind their house. And behind that area, there is the creek. And there’s a lot of foxtails, a lot of mud, marshland, really marshy. And there’s a very thin tree line. And the tree line is what separates our houses from where the bridge in the story is. And the marshland and all of that. It’s very thin tree-line. And 25 minutes, my family, they didn’t leave the house.
They were there the entire night. 25 minutes afterwards, two black Lincoln Town cars show up to the house. And out of the one car, a gentleman dressed in Air Force attire. And out of the other car, two gentlemen wearing black suits, black hats. No sunglasses. This was long before the movie, Men in Black.
Right. A lot of people have joked, oh, Men in Black, the movie. This happened in 1991. Will Smith was still a baby. I had my own experience back in the ’60s with the Men in Black. So, yeah. Oh, wow. Going back that far. So, you’ve seen them as well? In person. Yes. Okay. Only a few feet away, yeah. Well then, let me tell you this story, and it will make sense to you. And hopefully the people listening. So we see them.
Now my mom, still up to this point, anything about aliens or anything like that, we were country folk, very religious area. It just wasn’t that kind-of area of people. We were backwoods, farming folk. We couldn’t even comprehend something like that. So my mom and everyone, they thought this was just military. They thought they were with military… they saw the Air Force uniform. And they were like, well, it was probably something they were flying and it crashed. And they want to know what happened.
So a lot of people were like, oh, your mom wasn’t afraid? No, I just saw something crash behind my house. I called 911. I expect the military to come here and ask questions. It wasn’t strange. And, just because guys back then, you know, how was she supposed to know? Guys wearing black suits and hats, with a guy from the Air Force.
Maybe their secretary, you know, there was no putting it. She’s 22 years old, what can you do? So, she invites them in. They come inside. Go into the living room. My mom’s two friends are still there, at the time. They have them sit down on her couch. My mom sits down. Her two friends sit down. And the men in black, they had a pencil and a notepad. And they look at the three girls sitting on the couch. And they asked them to draw three different kinds of extraterrestrials. Like, just really random and oddly.
And you know how they can kind-of act like nonchalant about things? That’s what they were doing. Almost making it out to be a joke. And my mother’s two friends started laughing. They started cracking up. They’re like, you gotta be kidding me. And, they basically asked them to leave. And, they thought it wasn’t what they were expecting, you know. It’s almost like they already knew. For that to be the first thing they bring up. My mom and those two girls thought they were going to come in there. All right. Can you explain to me what you saw? No, that wasn’t it. Who would start an investigation by, can you draw three different kinds of extraterrestrials?
Long story short, my mom’s two friends were laughing, and it was getting later by that point. You know, they showed up 25 minutes after 10:18. It was almost 11 o’clock by this point, and they were tired. They were out late the night before. My mom basically started to draw three different kinds of extraterrestrials.
And at this point, the other two girls, they went ahead and left. And still, at this point, they didn’t think anything suspicious of it. They left and my mom went ahead and she drew three different kinds of extraterrestrials. One that looked like, your real basic gray extraterrestrial. This was with a pencil and a notepad.
And my mom had artistic abilities, but believe me, after the whole incident, it was just chicken scratch. You would have thought a three year old, you would have thought I drew it. But it wasn’t the point. She drew three different beings. One was your typical gray extraterrestrial. The other one, was one she called the Blues. It was a gray extraterrestrial. And the other one, was a Nordic. She called Nordic, very, very basic beings. After doing that, the gentleman that was in the Air Force- and believe this or not, the military uses regression therapy. They use it for soldiers that go through post-traumatic-stress disorder, to gain intel from a combat situation.
In order, to get every single detail. The gentleman that was with the Air Force, he was trained in hypnotism. And he hypnotized, or did a regression, therapy. I should say, appropriately. Yeah. I don’t want people to think he was going like that. It wasn’t that kind-of therapy. And they did a regression, a very brief one. Very brief. No longer than maybe 10 minutes.
And the stuff my mom revealed. Meanwhile, the men in black were standing in the corner and listening to everything my mom was saying. Unfortunately. And then they said, okay, tomorrow, many different media outlets are going to come here. Investigators, the news, newspapers, asking you what you saw and what happened.
And you will say it was a helicopter. Or we will take your son away!
From season 9, 2022, called
Luca and the Super Soldiers.
It would have been June or July of 2016, was the very first time I had a very unusual dream. In the process of it, I woke up with bruises, I woke up with bleeding. When the dream had, went through, I was actually taken. There were a couple of short greys, and there were three tall greys.
And it was a really scary experience. The one that was at my head actually felt like a female. She kept telling me everything’s going to be alright, everything’s going to be okay. But I kind-of had a feeling I knew what was going on. It felt almost as if I had been there before.
But they, the one to the right of me was actually standing next to some medical supplies. They were doing some different types of tests. And then he had taken his fingers and had inserted them into me. And they had left the room. And when they had left the room they had brought a hybrid in. And he looked very human. The only thing that I could say was he actually had these eyes, that didn’t look human. They were just this vibrant blue. And when you looked into there, just something that seemed almost predatory towards him. He didn’t feel like a nice guy at all. And one of the biggest things that he had actually stated to me was, I missed you.
And it scared me. Because, it told me that I had been there before. And things had happened afterwards. Within that process. I woke up with the bruises and the blood. And ever since then, things just kind-of spiraled out of control. And everything just kind-of started crashing. And that’s when memories started coming back.
That’s when everything started coming back. So 2016 was my start of my journey. Can you explain what the Secret Space Program is? Please, Luca. Because, there’s people who will not have heard of it. Absolutely. So the Secret Space Program actually it started in the 1940s. It actually started in Nazi Germany.
During the war, they had actually been working with extraterrestrial technology. They were reversing it. And they actually had a facility in Antarctica. So, nearing the end of the war, once they realized that they were losing, they started going off to Antarctica. Some of them were going off to South America, which we actually have information about.
And from there, they have actually started the secret space program. But the United States didn’t really actually get into it until about the 1950s. It all kind-of started with us in 1947 in Roswell, New Mexico. That they re-started reversed. technology on the craft that had, uh, was taken down. And ended up, we started talking with some extraterrestrials that had been, I’m not for certain if they were assigned the area? If they actually were part of this original Roswell mission? Whatever it could have been.
But we basically stated, the whole treaty basically went on as, if we allow you to do abductions, Can we have this reverse technology? And that’s basically how this treaty had gone down. And a lot of this information actually didn’t start coming out until about 2002. When Gary McKinnon had actually hacked into NASA files. And he discovered Solar Warden, which is actually the American SSP.
Within this secret space program, they have these, what are called super soldiers, which is what Luca is.
Correct!
Now Luca, can you explain a little bit, please, about Super Soldiers? How they come about? What they are? And then maybe tell us what your role is, in your squadron? There are a couple different ways that you can actually get Super Soldiers.
One of the very first ones is actually considered the Black Goo. Now you can get this through different methods. Most of the time it’s found within rocks and you heat it. And this is where you get it. And it’s actually a symbiotic type of form. It kind-of like, maybe like nanobots, I guess it’s a really good way to describe it.
And then once it’s within your body, it actually controls your entire system. You don’t really have a thought of your own because this is actually controlling you. It can actually advance your IQ. It really clears your mind out. Reflexes are outstanding. It does so many different things for you. But, within this one, you’re not actually really yourself.
You’re just being controlled. You’re a host for a parasite. Is basically the best way to really describe this one. Lucas was a little different. He actually had a type of serum that was created from working with this black goo for a long period of time. That they are actually able to control their own bodies.
It does mostly the same thing as the black goo does. There’s an intelligence increase, muscular bone density. Everything kind-of increases. Because, they want you to be basically versatile within any type of war. As well as being able to, mend a wound within a very short period of time. Because they need you, then. Right then and there.
For Luca, he also had a couple of different added bonuses. He had a type of a neurochip. That actually was implanted in the back of his brain. That can actually connect him to some of his gear. Because it’s kind-of a AI technology that they can actually integrate together with to basically use the headgear, which brings up the HUD system.
They don’t actually have a glass paneling up front that you can see out of. It’s kind-of cameras. And then the HUD system brings up these systems. So if he gets hit, ends up basically, he can see the hit. If there’s any type of fractures. If, there’s a wound that ended up coming through. And it’s one of those systems, as well as the corneal implants that also bring up HEDs.
So if he’s just walking around, this is some type of a contact that’s actually underneath his cornea. That also brings up these HED systems. So, if he’s in a situation where he’s not actually in this heavy gear. He can continue to process and go through if he needs to find targets. It shows up on his systems without an issue. It’s like a giant hologram.
And finally, from Season 5, 2020, called
Escaping from Eden
with my guest Paul Wallis
… And I’ve come to realize from other sources. And from all sorts of first-person report, that we are surrounded. By all kinds of entity, with different agendas for humanity. Some seem to like us, love us, be fascinated by us. Others, very indifferent to us. Treat us in the way we might treat farm animals. And then other presences that really seem quite malevolent.
Correct! Correct.
And we seem to be caught in the crossfire some of the time, in the conflicts that, that throws up.
And actually you brought a really good point up about 2020 and what’s happening. I actually put a podcast, my thoughts out about what the current situation is, when it got really bad here in New Zealand.
And I said, I shared a bit of my knowing, that what’s happening is sort of like a final battle, if you like. Because the war-in-heaven has never ended. The war that is talked about in the Bible, has never ended. It’s been ongoing this whole time. And those that currently control this reality that we live in, who try to keep humanity, the beings that you’re talking about, in this state of suppression. In the state of slavery that we are still in. Their time is rapidly coming to an end.
And so they are ramping up the fear worldwide. Because, people who are in fear are easy to control.
Oh, absolutely. I agree with everything you just said, Marianne. And this is one of the reasons I love world mythology. Why I love ancestral narratives. And indigenous story. Because if, and you’ll know this, if someone says what you just said, on Facebook. Or in a public conversation, oh my goodness, you’re a crazy, oh you’re a conspiracy theorist. And you can’t have a conversation about it. But if you go to world. Go to the ancestral narratives and say here’s a story, we’re caught in the crossfires of this cosmic struggle. There are hidden powers manipulating human society.
They feed off, some of them feed off low vibration, anger, anxiety, and all that. And there is a conflict over how long lived. How healthy. How intelligent, conscious we should be. And you can point to it in the stories. And you can read the stories. And the stories will resonate. And if you then say, I wonder if anything has ever really changed? I wonder if that’s the truth of what’s going on? It’s easier for people to join the dots when they’ve come out of 2020. When they’ve gone into the ancient stories. And they begin to feel the truth of it and recognize the patterns. Then to say, I wonder if this tells us about 2020. It’s easy for people to join the dots.
And so that’s why I spend so much of my time in Escaping from Eden, talking about world mythologies, ancient narratives. Because, they are there to explain to us the world in which we live.
And so, we come to the end of this final episode. And with it, the closing of Walking the Shadowlands. It’s hard to fully express the gratitude I feel for each of you, who’s been a part of this journey. This podcast grew from a community. A shared curiosity. And the many voices willing to speak about the mysterious and the extraordinary. To all the listeners, contributors, and especially to those in our Walking the Shadowlands FaceBook group. Who inspired this endeavour from the start. Thank you.
Looking back, this podcast has been so much more than just a series of episodes. It’s been a collection of truths, fears, dreams and connections. It’s been a space for exploring, what it means to seek beyond the everyday and question what lies just out of view. I hope that as we part ways here, each of you will carry a little bit of that wonder with you, wherever life takes you next.
Although this is goodbye for now, all the episodes will remain available on podcast apps. And at www.walkingtheshadowlands.com. A place where our shared stories can continue to inspire and be rediscovered. I may return for a special one-off episode someday if there’s a call to revisit a specific event, let me say. That we’ve only just begun to uncover in the public. But for now, I leave you with my deepest appreciation. And a wish. May you continue to question. To seek. And to walk through the shadows with courage, and an open heart. Thank you for listening. Thank you for sharing this journey. And thank you for being a part of Walking the Shadowlands. Until we meet again, take care. And remember. Some mysteries are worth embracing.
This is Marianne bidding you farewell from the Shadowlands.
